If you have been looking for a cabinet maker who can provide your medical facility with a high quality product at a fair price, look no further than Bow Wood Cabinet Systems. Our goal is to provide each and every one of our clients with a product that is built to stand the test of time–and that looks great doing it! We know that the style of your office matters and that’s why we are happy to offer our products in a number of different colors to suit your needs.

But what exactly makes our medical cabinetry a cut above the rest? Well, to put it simply, it’s the fact that we care about creating the highest possible quality cabinets on the market today. One of the ways we do that is by using plywood instead of MDF or other products that just won’t last. In today’s blog, we’ll take a look at a few of the qualities plywood possesses so you can know confidently that you’re getting the best of the best when you choose Bow Wood.

Why We Don’t Use Particle Board

Here is the truth of the matter–particle board is perfectly fine for many pieces of furniture. This is particularly true when you don’t need furniture that will last a long time. For example, if you’re a college student who needs a cheap coffee table, something made out of particle board will probably do the trick. It’s inexpensive and will probably suit its purpose, but it won’t last for more than a couple of years.

As a matter of fact, we recently did a few experiments of how particle board holds up compared to plywood. We’ll let the results speak for themselves.

Plywood Holds Its Shape

One thing that medical cabinetry needs to do is be dependable and reliable. That’s why we use plywood to make our cabinets. As a matter of fact, Wood Magazine notes that “crossbanded layers and balanced construction mean that hardwood plywood won’t shrink, swell, or warp as much as lumber,” making it a great choice for office workstations that demand a lot. The aforementioned article goes into great detail about the ins and outs of plywood, but the biggest takeaway should be that “its thin plies, lying at right angles to each other, as well as the various core materials available, produce uniform strength both with and across the grain.”

In other words, plywood can hold up to the everyday use that you’ll require from it in your medical clinic. The good news is that at Bow Wood Cabinet Systems, we have plenty of experience in building office storage cabinets that are designed to function in your unique environment and look good doing it.
